Third training on countering violent extremism

The Georgian Center for Strategy and Development (GCSD) organized a three-day training on Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism (P/CVE).

The online training was attended by the representatives of the working groups of the Permanent Interagency Commission on Elaboration of the National Counterterrorism Strategy (CNCS).

The role of narratives and counter-narratives in the process of Countering Violent Extremism was the topic of discussion on the first day of the training. The next day was dedicated to study specifications of developing a strategic communications plan to Prevent Violent Extremism. The third day of the training focused on the role of youth and women in the Prevention of Violent Extremism. During the training, participants completed practical assignments, also they were welcomed to share their opinions around the topic and receive relevant feedback. The training was conducted by an international expert on Counter-Terrorism and Violent Extremism - William Farrell.

The training was held within the framework of the project "Enhancing the capacity of Georgia in preventing violent extremism and radicalization". The project is implemented by GCSD with the financial support of the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
