On 10th of November 2020, Georgian Center for Strategy and Development organized an online presentation of the guidebook “Countering Violent Extremism: An Introductory Guide to Concepts, Programming, and Best Practices”. The speakers of the presentation were: Mr. Giorgi Goguadze, Director of Georgian Center for Strategy and Development and Ms. Mariam Tokhadze, Director of Terrorism Research Center and the author of the adaptation.

The first part of the meeting was dedicated to the presentation, and then the speakers answered the questions of the participants.

This is the first PCVE guidebook in Georgian which reflects and was adapted to the Georgian context. The guidebook has been adapted to the Georgian context by the leading expert of the field and translated into Georgian. The action was implemented in partnership with Hedayah Center, Search for Common Ground and the EU.

The guidebook discusses the multisectoral approaches, programs and best practices in countering violent extremism. Therefore, the document is best suited for civil servants, as well as for the representatives of civil society, media and youth organizations.

The Guidebook presentation is part of the project ” PCVE in Georgia – capacity building for CSOs and civil servants.” The project is supported by Hedayah Center in the framework of STRIVE Global Program funded by the EU.
