Training on the prevention of terrorism, violent extremism, counter-terrorism, and radicalisation

Under the program “Enhancing the Capacity of Georgia in Preventing Violent Extremism and Radicalisation”, Georgian Center for Strategy and Development - GCSD organized a three-day training on the prevention of terrorism, violent extremism, counter-terrorism, and radicalisation.

The training was attended by representatives of thematic departments of State Security Service of Georgia.

The training was led by Alisson Sands, founder of Project Hummingbird and former FBI agent. She developed the training module with Nate Rosenblatt PHD at the University of Oxford. The training program of 10 modules was fully handed over to the Training Center of the State Security Service.

During the training, the participants and the speaker discussed the terrorist movements and strategies for identifying them, facilitating networks, addressing the terrorist threats, and supporting successful prosecution.

In addition to the lecture part, participants were trained in effective interrogation and interview methods via simulation activities.

The program “Enhancing the Capacity of Georgia in Preventing Violent Extremism and Radicalisation” is implemented by GCSD since 2020 with the financial support of the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
