Mikheil Skhiereli

With 20 years of working experience in public sector of Georgia, private sector and international organizations, Mikheil Skhiereli is an Associated Consultant on Governance, Innovation and Investment Policy at Policy and Management Consulting Group (PMCG) and Programme Expert of the SMEs Development and DCFTA Project in Georgia implemented by the GIZ that supports clustering and clusters development in the country. In 2015 he worked at the Tbilisi Entrepreneurship Support Centre and was in charge of support programmes for the SMEs registered in Tbilisi. In 2014-2015 he was a Head of the Staff Office of the European Integration Committee of the Parliament of Georgia. During the 1.5 years of work in the Parliament of Georgia he was the secretary of Georgian Parliamentary delegation in the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly and a leader of the working Group for the preparation of the Annual Review on EU-Georgia Economic Relations. During the 2013, Mikheil Skhiereli served as an Economic Adviser of the State Minister of Georgia in Diaspora Issues. He participated in the elaboration of the Diaspora Strategy document and worked on the concept of Diaspora Global Network as well as actively cooperated with experts, educational institutions and diaspora organizations in the Strategy development process. In 2011-2012 he was a national economic expert of GIZ Private Sector Support Programme in Georgia. His earlier work experience includes Finance Academy of the Ministry of Finance, National Bank of Georgia, Administration of the President of Georgia, Tax Department of the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Tax Revenues. Mr. Skhiereli’s experience in these institutions mainly includes international relations, participation in reform processes, cooperation with international donor organizations and enhance transfer of best international practise and experience in respective fields.
