Tamar Khuntsaria

Tamar Khuntsaria’s professional career spans over two decades. Relevant highlights include working as director of strategic communications at international and non-governmental organizations, and taking on leadership roles across democratic reform and economic development programmes in Georgia. Tamar’s most recent position was strategic communication lead in the EU4Georgia project, in which capacity she advised the EU Delegation to Georgia on strategic communication aspects, designed and led various EU-focused national information and communication campaigns in close cooperation with EU projects and partners, international and government stakeholders, and media. Her previous positions include team leader for the EU’s flagship ENPARD programme’s communication unit, manager of the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet project, director of Tbilisi based think-tank Center for Social Sciences, director of the EU-Georgia Business Council, and other roles. Tamar also has over fifteen years of teaching and research experience. She is an associate professor at the University of Georgia. Tamar holds a PhD in International Relations from Tbilisi State University, an MSc in Politics from the University of Edinburgh, UK, and an MA in Public Administration from Bowling Green State University, USA. She has received prestigious graduate scholarships from Chevening, UK and Edmund S. Muskie, USA programs, as well as academic fellowships from the Open Society Institute and Erasmus+ Jean Monnet program.
