The aim of the project was to enhance the capability of the Defence and Security Committee of the Parliament of Georgia. Within the framework of the project, GCSD monitored committee activities, prepared corresponding reports and recommendations as well as was actively engaged in the discussions around parliamentary oversight of defence and security institutions. The project entailed activities such as thorough study and analysis of decisions approved by the Committee; regular meetings and discussions with the members of the Committee; in-depth analysis of the best international practice of parliamentary oversight of the security sector; permanent monitoring of the Committee sessions.
The project was financed by the British Embassy in Tbilisi.
