The workshop on the guidebook about Violent Extremism was held

A meeting with representatives of civil society and higher education institutions Organized by the Georgian Center for Strategy and Development (GCSD) was held.

The participants of the workshop discussed the guidebook “Countering Violent Extremism – An Introductory Guide to Concepts, Programming, and Best Practices”.

The purpose of the meeting was to get feedback from the participants about the guide. The first part of the meeting was devoted to a brief overview of the guide.  In the second part, there was a discussion around it where participants expressed their opinions and views.

“Countering Violent Extremism – An Introductory Guide to Concepts, Programming, and Best Practices” was developed in collaboration with the Hedaya Center, Search for Common Ground, and the European Union, translated by GCSD and adapted to the Georgian reality.

The final changes will be reflected in the guide based on the opinions expressed at today’s meeting. According to the completed guide, GCSD will conduct a training cycle.  The training will be attended by representatives of civil society, public institutions, universities, media, as well as civil educators and clergy.

The meeting was held within the framework of the project "Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism - Capacity Building for Civil Society Organizations and Civil Servants" implemented by the GCSD with the support of the Hedayah Center.
