The project aims at strengthening social resilience by building the capacity for managing strategic communications. This is attained through developing the competencies of the local university to deliver a high-quality learning program in the field of strategic communications, preparing future leaders to be in the vanguard of countering disinformation and raising the level of public awareness. The objectives of the project are to build the capacity of the local universities in Batumi to deliver high-quality learning program in the field of strategic communications; to improve communications and counter-disinformation capabilities of future leaders and to promote public capabilities and awareness on identification of fake news.

The program started off with engaging the Lithuanian expert of Strategic Communications who developed a tailored study program for the BSU. The prospective professors went through the Training of Trainers and course commenced in September as part of the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences at the Department of Public and Political Sciences. 17 junior and senior students from of Bachelor’s Studies attended the subject and the course will be running in spring (2020) term as well. In addition, 11 students are currently working on eleven separate research topics. The best research pieces will be awarded with the scholarship and the authors will have a platform at the conference to present their findings.
